On holiday in Alanya or Side? Dental clinics nearby or in Antalya

Many UK visitors stay east of Antalya, in Alanya, Side or Manavgat. Both districts have authorised dental clinics. Here is how to decide whether to use one or head into the city.

Short answer

On the HealthTürkiye register in October 2026, Alanya district had 23 authorised dental clinics and Manavgat district, which includes Side, had 13. For a check-up, a filling or an urgent problem on holiday, a nearby clinic is usually the practical choice. For planned treatment such as implants or a full set of crowns, many patients travel into Antalya, where there are about 195 authorised clinics and the airport is closer. It is about 70 km from the airport to Manavgat and 130 km to Alanya.

Antalya city is not where most UK holidaymakers in the province actually stay. A large share head east along the coast, to Side and the resorts around Manavgat, or further on to Alanya with its castle and long beaches. If you are one of them and you need, or want, dental treatment, you have a choice: a clinic near your hotel, or a trip into Antalya.

This article looks at what the Ministry register shows about clinics in those two districts, and at how to decide. The figures are from the HealthTürkiye register as downloaded on 22 October 2026; the full list of clinics is on our Antalya register page.

When a clinic near your hotel makes sense

An emergency on holiday

If you crack a tooth, lose a filling or develop toothache while on holiday, the sensible thing is to see a dentist nearby. You want to be seen quickly, not to spend two hours in a car. Our article on toothache on holiday covers what to do first and how to find a dentist.

A one-visit treatment

A check-up, a clean, a simple filling or whitening can usually be done in one visit. If a local clinic is authorised, has named dentists and gives you a clear price, there is little reason to travel.

You are staying for several weeks

Some UK visitors spend the winter on this coast. If you are there for long enough to have treatment, heal and come back for a second stage, a clinic close to where you live makes follow-up visits much easier.

When travelling into Antalya makes sense

Planned treatment over several appointments

Implants, a set of crowns or veneers, or full-arch treatment usually involve four to six appointments in a week, sometimes more. If each appointment means a long drive, the week becomes tiring, particularly after surgery. Many patients who come for planned treatment stay in Antalya for that part of the trip, then return to the coast to relax.

More choice

About four in five of the province’s authorised clinics are in the city. That includes all 15 clinics in our ranking. If you want to compare written plans from several clinics, Antalya gives you more options.

Closer to the airport

On the day you fly home after treatment, a short transfer to Antalya Airport is easier than a long one, especially if your last appointment is that morning.

A split trip

A pattern that works well for many people is to split the stay. Spend the treatment days in a hotel close to the clinic in Antalya, then move to a resort for the days of rest that follow, when appointments are few. Before you book, check with the clinic which days you need to be nearby and which days you are free. Remember that the days immediately after implant surgery or extractions are not the time for long journeys, hot sun or swimming; see what to avoid after treatment.

Checking a clinic in Alanya or Side

Our six checks are not limited to the city. You can apply them to any clinic yourself:

  • Is it on the register? Search for it on our register page, or on HealthTürkiye directly.
  • Does it name its dentists? On its own website, not just in a message.
  • Does it publish a guarantee? Treatment by treatment, in writing.
  • Does it name its implant brands? If you are considering implants.
  • Does it publish prices? Or will it give you an itemised written quote?
  • What is its review record? Look at the number of reviews and read the lower ones.

The method behind each check is on how we check.

Getting into Antalya from the resorts

From Side and Manavgat, and from Alanya, you can reach Antalya by intercity bus, by taxi or by private transfer. Some clinics include a transfer from resort hotels in their packages; ask before you book and confirm the pick-up time, especially on surgery day when you will not want to drive or take a bus home afterwards. Our article on getting around Antalya has more on local transport.

What to ask a clinic before travelling in

  • Which days must I be in Antalya? Ask for the full appointment schedule, so you know which nights to book near the clinic.
  • Is a transfer from my resort included? And is there a return transfer after surgery, when you should not take a bus?
  • How long is each appointment? Some, such as surgery or try-ins, can take several hours.
  • What happens if I need an extra visit? A fitting that needs adjusting may mean another trip into the city.
  • Who do I call in the evening if there is a problem? You may be over an hour away.

Combining treatment and a beach holiday

Many people like the idea of treatment followed by a week on the beach. It can work well, with one caveat: the beach week should come after the healing that matters, not during it. In the first days after implant surgery, extractions or gum surgery, swimming in the sea or a pool, long hours in the sun, alcohol and steam rooms all raise the risk of problems. If your treatment is crowns or veneers without surgery, the restrictions are lighter, but you will still want to be near the clinic until the final fit has been checked. Plan the holiday part of the trip around your dentist’s advice, not the other way round.

Winter visitors

Alanya in particular has a large community of people from the UK and northern Europe who spend the winter months on the coast, or live there part of the year. If that is you, you have more time than a typical dental tourist, which changes the calculation. You can have treatment in stages, heal at home on the coast, and return for follow-up without flights. A clinic in your own district becomes more attractive, and so does a clinic in Antalya that is willing to schedule appointments over several weeks rather than squeezing them into one. Either way, the same checks apply.

Whichever you choose, keep the receipts, records and X-rays from any visit together. If you later see a different dentist, in the resort, in Antalya or at home, they will be able to see what has already been done.

Our top pick

Precious Dental, which publishes this guide, is in central Antalya, in Muratpaşa. Its implant packages include hotel nights near the clinic and airport transfers. If you are staying on the coast and would like it to look at your case, you can send an X-ray or photos before you decide where to be treated. The details are on why Precious Dental.

Common questions

Are there authorised dental clinics in Alanya?

Yes. The Ministry’s HealthTürkiye register listed 23 in Alanya district in October 2026. You can find them on our Antalya register page.

How far is Alanya from Antalya?

About 130 km by road from Antalya Airport, roughly an hour and three-quarters in free-flowing traffic. Alanya also has its own smaller airport at Gazipaşa.

Is it worth travelling into Antalya for treatment?

For planned work over several appointments, often yes, because there is more choice. For a single visit or an emergency, a local clinic is usually more sensible.

Do Antalya clinics pick up from Alanya or Side?

Some do, especially as part of a package. Ask before you book, and ask how long the journey will take on surgery day.
