25 questions to ask an Antalya dental clinic
Copy these into your first email. A good clinic will answer every one, in writing, without pressure.
Ask for the clinic's Ministry authorisation number, the name of your dentist, a written itemised plan after an X-ray, the implant brand and model, the guarantee in writing, what is and isn't included, and who pays for extra travel or corrective work if something goes wrong. Keep the answers: they become your record.
The clinic
- What is your Ministry of Health international health tourism authorisation number?
- How long has the clinic treated international patients?
- Do you have a clear complaints process, and who handles it?
- Do you have professional indemnity insurance?
The dentist
- Who will plan my treatment, and who will carry it out?
- Where did they train, and how often do they do this treatment?
- Will the same dentist see me on every visit?
- Will they speak English, or will a translator be with me?
The plan and price
- Can you send a written, itemised plan after seeing my X-ray?
- Is the price for one jaw or both?
- What exactly is included: scans, extractions, temporary teeth, hotel, transfers?
- What could cost extra (bone grafts, sinus lifts, extra nights), and how much?
- How many trips will I need, and for how many nights each?
- How much is the deposit, and is it refundable?
Materials
- Which implant brand and model will you use?
- Will I get an implant passport with the brand, size and batch numbers?
- What will the teeth be made of, and is there a titanium bar?
- For veneers: will my teeth be prepared for thin veneers or for crowns?
Guarantee and aftercare
- Can I have the guarantee in writing, treatment by treatment?
- What does the guarantee cover, and what voids it?
- Do I have to come back to Antalya to use it? Who pays for that trip?
- What aftercare do you offer once I'm back in the UK?
- Will you send my X-rays and records to my UK dentist?
- What happens if I'm unhappy with the result?
- Who pays for extra travel, hotel or corrective work if something goes wrong?
Several of these questions follow the Oral Health Foundation's advice for anyone considering dental treatment abroad.
Common questions
What if a clinic won't answer in writing?
Treat that as a warning sign. Written answers protect you if there's a disagreement later.
Should I ask about a clinic's complaints process?
Yes. The Oral Health Foundation suggests asking whether there is a clear complaints process and who to contact for advice after treatment.
