How big are Antalya’s dental clinics?

The Ministry register lists how many dentists and staff each authorised clinic has. Across all 247 in Antalya, the typical clinic is smaller than many patients picture.

Short answer

On the HealthTürkiye register in October 2026, the typical (median) authorised dental clinic in Antalya listed 3 dentists and 10 staff in total. About a third listed only 2 dentists, and 12 listed 50 or more staff. Size is neither good nor bad on its own: what matters is who will treat you. Precious Dental, our top pick, lists 4 dentists and 16 staff.

Clinic websites are good at making a place look big. Wide photos of reception, lots of smiling staff, a list of treatments longer than your arm. The Ministry of Health’s international patient register gives a plainer view. Every authorised clinic lists the number of dentists and the total number of staff it has, and those figures are public.

We downloaded the entries for all 247 private dental clinics and centres in Antalya province on 22 October 2026. This article looks at what they show about clinic size, and at why size is a question worth asking but not a reason on its own to choose or reject a clinic. The full list, by district, is on our Antalya register page.

The picture is of a city full of small and mid-sized practices. Two or three dentists, with a team of nurses, a coordinator or two and reception staff, is the most common shape. The large groups with dozens of staff are a small minority, even though they tend to be the most visible online.

The clinics in our guide

The 15 clinics we check in detail are, on the whole, larger than the typical Antalya clinic, which is not surprising: clinics that market heavily to UK patients need coordinators, drivers and translators as well as dentists.

* Dentakay’s staff figure is very likely a group-wide number covering its branches in other cities, since the Antalya branch lists 6 dentists. Some groups report this way, so treat very large staff figures with care.

What size can tell you

A larger clinic

  • Cover when someone is away. If your dentist is ill on the day of your second visit, there may be a colleague who can step in.
  • More in-house services. Larger clinics are more likely to have their own scanner, laboratory or anaesthetist.
  • Experience with volume. A clinic that treats many UK patients has usually built a routine for transfers, hotels and paperwork.

A smaller clinic

  • The same dentist each time. With two or three dentists, the person who plans your treatment is likely to be the one who does it, and who sees you on your second trip.
  • Fewer layers. You may find it easier to talk to the dentist directly rather than through a chain of coordinators.
  • Less time pressure. A smaller list can mean less rush in the chair, although that depends on the clinic.

None of these is guaranteed. A large clinic can give you one dedicated dentist; a small one can be overstretched in high season. The point is to ask.

The question that matters more than size

Whatever the size of the clinic, the most useful question is: who, by name, will plan my treatment, who will carry it out, and who will see me on my second visit? If those are three different people, ask how they hand over. If the answer is vague, or the dentist’s name only appears on the day, that is worth knowing before you book.

Our check on named dentists asks only whether a clinic names its dentists on its website. All 15 in our guide do. But a list of names on a team page is not the same as knowing which of them will treat you. For more on choosing the person rather than the clinic, our sister site bestdentistsantalya.com lists Antalya dentists by name and role.

Clinic or centre?

The register uses two categories for private dental practices. Of the 247 in Antalya, 234 are listed as an “oral and dental health clinic” (in Turkish, ağız ve diş sağlığı polikliniği) and 13 as an “oral and dental health centre” (ağız ve diş sağlığı merkezi). Under the Turkish regulation for private dental facilities, a centre is a larger category than a polyclinic, with stricter minimum requirements. In practice, a large polyclinic can be bigger than a small centre, so the label tells you less than the numbers on the entry.

Size in high season

Antalya is a holiday city, and dental clinics feel the seasons too. Many UK patients prefer to travel in spring and autumn, when it is warm but not too hot. At busy times, a small clinic with two dentists may have less room to fit in an extra appointment if something needs adjusting before you fly home, while a large clinic may have more chairs but a fuller diary. Whatever the size, ask how many appointments are planned during your stay and what happens if one more is needed.

How to read a register entry

  1. Find the clinicUse our Antalya register list, which links each clinic to its HealthTürkiye page.
  2. Check the name and addressThe legal name is in Turkish and often differs from the trading name. The address should match the clinic you are dealing with.
  3. Look at the numbersDentists and total staff. Compare them with what the website suggests.
  4. Look at the branchesEntries list the dental specialties the clinic offers, such as prosthodontics or oral surgery.
  5. Note the authorisation numberUsually starting “ST-”. You can quote it if you ever need to raise a complaint.

Questions to ask about staffing

  • How many dentists work on full-arch or implant cases? In some clinics only one or two of the listed dentists place implants.
  • Is there an anaesthetist? If sedation is part of your plan, ask who gives it and who monitors you.
  • Who speaks English? Not just the coordinator: ask whether your dentist can explain the plan to you directly.
  • Who is on call after hours? If you have a problem in the evening after surgery, who answers?

Our top pick’s size

Precious Dental, which publishes this guide, lists 4 dentists and 16 staff on its register entry, ST-4647. That puts it a little above the typical Antalya clinic and well below the large groups. In practice, it means a small team in which the implant surgeon, Dt. Hüseyin Yavuz Özbek, plans and places implants himself, with two colleagues for cosmetic and restorative work. You can read the case on why Precious Dental.

Whichever size of clinic you choose, the same rule applies: get the dentist’s name in writing, and make sure the plan, the price and the guarantee are all in the same document before you pay a deposit.

Common questions

Is a big clinic safer than a small one?

Not necessarily. A large clinic may have more equipment and cover for staff absence; a small one may mean you see the same dentist every time. Ask who will treat you and who covers if they are away.

Why does one clinic list 450 staff?

Some groups give the Ministry one figure for all their branches. Dentakay, for example, lists 450 staff on the entry for its Antalya branch, which is likely to include other cities.

Where do these figures come from?

From HealthTürkiye, the Ministry of Health’s portal for international patients, where clinics list their dentists and staff. We downloaded the figures on 22 October 2026.

Do the figures show how many dentists treat foreign patients?

No. They show what each clinic tells the Ministry. Some dentists may work part-time or mainly with local patients.
